Date: 11 March 2026 (Wednesday)Lamka: This morning at around 10:00 AM, Brigadier S. Prashanth, Commander of 27 Sector Assam Rifles, Tuibuong, Churachandpur, Manipur, felicitated Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam (10th Guards) at his office.
The newly commissioned officer was accompanied by his parents and members of ZSP GHQ, including the President, Mr. Khamsuanpao, and the General Secretary, Mr. Solomon Mung. During the meeting, they shared a cup of coffee and discussed important matters related to defence and service to the nation.
Brigadier S. Prashanth congratulated Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam on his successful commissioning as a Lieutenant and wished him the very best for his future endeavours. As a mark of appreciation and encouragement, the Brigadier presented him with a medal and an Assam Rifles muffler.He also remarked that this achievement is only the beginning of a long journey, encouraging Lieutenant Obed to continue working hard and maintain excellence in his service.
In the context of Manipur, three young & dynamic persons recently passed out from the Officers Training Academy (OTA):Wikham Lubou Pamei from the Naga communityRaihan K. Khan from the Meitei Pangal communityObed Thangminsiam from the Kuki-Zo communityLieutenant Obed will report to the Regimental Centre, Kamptee, Maharashtra, by the end of this month. After completing the required formalities, he will soon be posted to the 10th Guards Unit in Punjab.
His achievement also reflects a proud legacy of service, as his father, Havildar (Retd.) Khamkhokam, served in the same regiment during his time in the army.
It is also noteworthy that Obed attended the full coaching course twice, organized by the Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi General Headquarters (ZSP GHQ) at Zou Gal Hall, Zoveng, Lamka, which contributed to his preparation and success. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and wish him great success in his career.
